The farm has provided us with the facilities we need so that our four horses Daly, Rio, Sammy Rolo and Edwin can live with us along with our dog's Ludo and Breeze Since moving in we have constructed 900M of three rail post and rail fencing with electric fence protection, a stable block enclosed within a inner yard and a large field shelter. In addition we have built a 60M x 30M flood lit ménage. Follow the links on the left to meet our Horses.

Stable Block

The stable block was constructed in an L shape design, consisting of a long open barn, two storage rooms, corner stable and three standard stables. It was purchased from cottage estates as a pre-fabricated unit that was fitted to the concrete base and brickwork we laid. Power has been installed in the block providing mains sockets and lights. Mains water has also been piped in to feed the stable block taps and water trough's in the paddocks. We hired a mini digger to lay the pipe and cables.

New 60M by 30M sand and rubber school

In 2009 work on the new school was completed. The School has been built between the main barn and the stable block to give it some protection. Work to erect the lighting for night time use is underway. The sand and rubber all weather surface is excellent to ride on and is a major asset. It helps the older horse Rooney act like a four year old again as he loves the surface.

Field Shelter

The field shelter sits on the opposite side of the paddock from the main stable block. It is a pre-fabricated static construction built on concrete foundations and a single course of brickwork. The shelter was supplied by cottage estates. The pictures on the right show the damaged caused by a storm in January 2007 when the structure was badly damaged. We rebuilt it while looking closely at improving and re-enforcing the roof design and construction.
